Course Aims
To provide delegates with the skills and knowledge required to carry out surveying and location of underground services in accordance with HSG47, including the safe operation of SPX RD Series Cable Avoidance Tool(s) and Signal Generator (GENNY).
Course Content
- An understanding of which laws and additional information relate to safe working with underground services
- Legislation and regulations
- The ability to interpret utility plans and recognise different underground services
- HSG47- Avoiding Danger from Underground Services
- Cable avoidance using the SPX RD Series & Signal Generator
- Practical operation of cable avoidance equipment (SPX RD Series & Genny)
- Practical assessment & evaluation
Qualifications Obtained
Delegates successfully completing the course, including the written and practical assessments, are awarded a City & Guilds approved certificate.
