Level III - VQ Construction Site Supervision: Building & Civil Engineering

Please note the below is intended as a guide to the type of candidate recommend you put forward for this Programme;   Should be supervising more than one trade – however if the company is trade specific, they can be eligible if managing multiple squads  Job title should be General Foreman, Works Manager, Site Supervisor, Site Engineer, above, or equivalent  Should be reporting to a Site Manager or equivalent   Should be leading and participating in Toolbox Talks  Should be out on site most of the time (e.g. not 100% office based)

No prior qualifications are required to undertake this qualification however SMSTS certification is advantageous.  

Course Aims

The SVQ level 3 or SCQF Level 7 award in Construction Site Supervision (Construction): Building and Civil Engineering has been designed in partnership with CITB Sector Skills Council to ensure relevance to the sector.

It is also jointly awarded with the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) and the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE). 

Course Content

This qualification covers areas such as maintaining systems for health, safety, welfare and environmental protection, planning work activities and resources to meet work requirements, controlling work progress against agreed programmes, maintaining supplies of materials to meet project requirements, implementing communication systems for the project and co-ordinating preparation for site operations.
